I'm Alberto Groppelli, 41 years old, italo-argentinian, Electrotechnical Engineer. Worked from '89 to '99 in Veneto (Italia). 13 years experience in the automation field. From '89 to '94 worked in Quasar Electronics Srl, Treviso, Italy as electrical switchboards and plants designer, PLC programmer and as Comissioning Chief. From '95 assisted a lot of plants for tobacco industry as programmer of: PLC, Scada, Visual Basic, instruments. I also was in charge as commissioning chief, process engineer and programmers coordinator.
In '97-'98 I took the responsibility of Automation and Process Control Department of Garbuio S.p.A., Treviso, Italy. Lived a year at Neutchatel (Switzerland) for assist a big Garbuio project for Philips Morris. In '99 returned to Argentina for establish SFA.
I have develop a good experience in the tobacco industry working for Garbuio Spa. I was in charge as Process Engineer the project as follows:
- A complete Primary Plant for Philips Morris at Novy Jicin, Check Republic.
- A complete Burley Line of ZPT at Krakow - Poland
- A complete Stem Line of RJR at Izmir - Turkey
- A complete Primary and Stem Line of BAT Augustow - Poland
- Burley Line upgrade for Philips Morris Krakow - Poland
- A complete Big Primary Line and Stem Line for FTR Philips Morris Neuchatel (2 years). It was a big project with 12 PLC Siemens S7-400 and 11 Scada with Intouch (52.000 Tags)
My skills on the tobacco industry involves the know-how for the control of the complete primary: Bright, Burley and Stem Line.
I was in charge of with the projects of the automatic control system and the commissioning of them. This involve flow generation, weigh belt systems, metering tubes, mathematical models to assist DCC, Casing C., Casing Kitchen, Dryer C., Apron Dryer, Add Backs, Flavor C. and silo management.
